Linux distro for and older laptop?

I have an older IBM Think Pad that I would like to load linux on. I wanted to know if anyone had a distribution they would recommend for an older machine, or if I should just install a stripped down mainstream distro such as Red Hat? The machine is a Pentium 2, 233mhz with 64MB of RAM and a 4GB hard drive.

Thanks,

Jerry
