Two weeks ago I installed Slackware 10.2 on a Thinkpad a20m with 500Mhz,
64MB RAM, a 4GB harddisk and a Cisco wireless net connection. I equipped
it with a light window-manager (icewm) and gave it to a first-time
computer user. She's very happy with it.
(Needless to say, it really helped to compile a custom 2.4.31 kernel and
remove any unnecessary startup services. This reduced the boot time to
about 20s.)
