.... and I've used X on a 486VLB-66/24MBRAM...
excruciatingly; on a K5-75/16MBRAM, quite acceptably,
given the apps I was running at the time.
Thinkpad P-200/64MB was fine for RH 7.1, with X.
I set it up with a menu for my wife to run without WM
or DE, just X + app, when she chose, and in that mode,
it was downright speedy.
