I'm running Red Hat 9. Following is my system config:
Monitor : Nokia 445Pro
Video Card : Nvidia GeForce FX 5200
During installation neither the generic vesa driver nor the generix Geforce
driver worked. I installed the X window system, and Gnome anyway, and set it
to boot to text mode. Then the the latest drivers for the vidoe card were
installed. The provided help file says, I should edit the XF86 config file in
the /etc/X11/ dir.
Problem:
But there is no such file there, and then I tried locating the the location
of the config file in the XF86 log, and apparently it is set to use some
thing in the "/tmp" dir.
There is no further help in the provided README.txt. Any suggestion ?
Thank you for your time,
SM
PS - if I try to run "redhat-config-xf86" the diplay hangs, and I've to
press 'Esc' key twice to return to text mode.
