Hi,

Wondering if anyone out there has tried this type of install and had
success. I've installed and can boot with the single processor kernel.
However, when I try to boot with the "smp" kerenel. I get a kernel panic
when it tries to mount the root file sys. The message is as follows:

Kmod: failed to exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k block-major-9, errno = 2
VFS: Cannot open root device "sda2" or 08:02
Please append a correct "root=" boot option
Kernel Panic: VFS Unable to mount root fs on 08:02

My thought is that something is missing in the kernel or is installed as
module and is not yet loaded.

Anyone out there with a thought? I've done the same install on a Netfinity
5600 dual processor and it works without problem.

Thanks!

Darren
