I'm currently building a new, lean, mean kernel for my Linux
Firewall/apache machine-to-be.
I have a tape unit in it, C1533A from HP.
Do I have to find and install any special software for it in the
kernel ?
Or is the kernel ready for it as is ?
Do I need any special software forit ? to get things to tape , besides
tar ?

... It's my understanding that the 32-bit kernel won't run 64-bit code. ... with the 'special software' you have that won't run on the 64-bit ... you can't run the 64-bit Oracle ... DeeDee, don't press that button! ...
