RealAudio Installation Help?

Newbie begs for some help...

I installed RealPlayer8 on RHL 9 as a browser plugin.
When I click on a RealAudio link in one browser (Opera, my fave), the
download box opens, but the "Open" choice is grayed-out.
In Mozilla, when I click Open, nothing happens.
It is listed as a plugin in both browsers.

For me - and for many others I'm sure -

     in small, easy words,

what do we do to make this work?

Assuming the person reading your reply knows almost nothing will
probably be more helpful. Better too much info than not enough.

One source http://plugindoc.mozdev.org/linux.html#RealPlayer
says I need to "copy rpnp.so to your Mozilla Plugins" directory. I
don't know how to do that.

I've read this
http://realforum.real.com/cgi-bin/unixplayer/showthreaded.pl?Cat=&Board=install2&Number=4736&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5
on RealAudio's Unix Forum and it means absolutely nothing to me. Miles
over my head.

I love the RealPlayer and need it.
Please help me - us - to get it to work...with *easy* and *complete*
instructions.

Thanks
