Yesterday I have installed 'red hat linux 9'. No problems during the
installation.
However, when I start Linux I see all startup messages until the line:
starting firstboot
At that moment the screen is black and nothing happens. Any suggestions
about how to solve the problem are welcome.
When I start linux with option 'linux single' then I can work in line mode
without problems.
My video card is: MSI FX5200 TDR 128 DDR 128 MB
My monitor is: 17 inch Medion. Type: MD1772LA The id MD1772LA is also found
by linux.
I could experiment by adjusting monitor settings (e.g. specifying lower
frequencies) but I don't know in which file that is stored. Or is a special
Medion driver required that is not shipped with red hat linux?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Wim Vogelaar.
