I just finished an install of RH8.0 and couldnt get anything running. After
I logged in it would lock at che RH window (but no device/service icons). So
I switched the default desktop to KDE and it logs in fine. I tried to go
back and restart in GNOME and it did the same thing several times. Does
anyone know why this might be happening?

Im running an Athlon SlotA @ 700Mhz with 400+Mb RAM, Savage3d 32Mb video,
3Com 10/100 Ethernet, and had a modem in it but for some reason KDE wouldnt
recognize it so I think something might be wrong with it.

Any help is greatly appreciated. I hate halfa$$ installs.
