I cannot install either RH9 or RH7.3 from CD-ROMs on either of the two
machines below despite performing the media tests on all six disks of the
CDs. RH7.3 seems to always fail on the Disk 1 while RH9 has failed on disk 1
    and occasionally disk 2.

    IBM Netvista 933Mhz, 512Mb RAM
    Compaq SFF 500MHz, 128Mb RAM

It is coming up with fatal media errors but I previously had the Compaq
running fine with RH7.3 and my problems have only arisen since I tried to
    install RH9 last weekend.

I have PartitionMagic 8 installed on both with W2KPro running fine (I am
writing this post as proof) on the IBM and W98SE on the Compaq. I share the
monitor with a W2KPro only machine but that shouldn't cause a media failure.

Any ideas because I am puzzled.

    Cheers

    Phil
