I run a Dell Dimension 8300 bought last year.
But when I installed various Linuxes (and I've done this since in the
past the early 90s) I found they wouldn't work. I tried RH8 and 9 and
Fedora 1.
I tried SUSE and Debian, I forget how many distributions I tried: they
all got stuck on final reboot, I think something to do with SATA disk
drives.
I lost a week of my life mucking about downloading/burning/scratching my
arse etc etc :-(
Then (clouds part, sun shines, beautific smile on face) I burned FC2
disks and installed yesterday... and it was sweet. Everything except
sound works (and I can figure that out over time).
I am very pleased. Can't comment really about stable because only
started yesterday, but haven't had any problems. I can report that my
FC2 installation went great and whatever was bugging the other distros
had been fixed in this one.

-- Fight spam. After all we all hate spam. Invade countries that support spammers, even if there's no evidence. I mean I need to get re-elected, and who'd vote for people who are soft on spam? Hold people from those countries indefinitely in gaol. Why do they need charges or a trial? After all they don't even speak our language. Take photographs of these people naked, on leashes, in heaps on the floor, covered in stuff. Why not? It's funny. And they don't speak our language. The War on Spam is a just war. Only just. In fact it's not even a war.
