It appears to be the gnome configuration which is broken - not the X11
configuration. KDE works fine...

Also gnome works fine for root user but no one else (not even newly
created users). It appears I must have saved a local configuration to
root when logging out at some stage.

If I knew which files to copy I could just copy the root user ones to
the ordinary users. Also need to know what the 'default' configuration
files are for gnome.

Froma net search it appears to be a confusion between the XFree86
version of X11 (in the gnome configuations) and Xorg (which are
'supposed' to be in the gnome configuration files) after tthe latest
patches for FC2 Final.
