Hi folks. I was wondering if anyone could lend me a hand. I just upgraded
my FC! box to FC2 but I ran into a bit of a problem. Upon rebooting I
noticed that when I clicked the "Start" (or should I call it the
Fedora) menu, I could only see the bottom-most part of the menu (ie, up to
the spacer with "Run application" and "Search for files" ... I can not see
any menus or sub-menus for any application (or system setting, or
preferences). Also, this problem only occurs when I'm running Gnome ... if
I run KDE, I'm fine. [If it helps, when I click on the "Start Here" icon
on the desktop I can see the 3 sub-menus (applications, preferences and
"system settings"), but clicking on any of them gives me an error saying
"applications:///" is not a valid location. If I attempt to enter in that
URL in Nautilus, I get the same error. My installation went fairly
smoothly, although I did run into one or two small problems with "X". I
have since run an "rpm -F --replacepkgs" for xorg* and gnome* on the 2nd
CD ... just to see if that might help [without any luck, obviously].
At this point I've checked everything I could but have not stumbled onto
anything. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
