Enabling swap space and then handing...

I installed Fedora 2 after hours of battling with failed installations ,
one after the other.When I finally got Anaconda to go through without
incidence , at boot time the machine is just hanging after printing

"Enabling swap space [OK]"

Any idea what's happening here?
