I've been running Core 1 for months with no trouble at all.
Then today I tried booting up with Core 2. It gets to /sbin/loader
and bombs with something like "Critical temperature 77 C reached. Shutting
down." It repeats this every few seconds and eventually fills the screen
with garbage.
I immediately rebooted and went into BIOS config where the CPU temperature
showed a cool 46 degrees C.
E-Machines W1500 with an AMD Athlon XP 1600+.
