Anyone had any experience with the 15100..?
Hardware:
Promise Vtrak 15100 (latest firmware 1.03)(the firmware is busybox
pre3)
15 250GB WD Sata drives
Gateway 935S with 4GB RAM 1.4GHZ procesor
Adaptec 29160 SCSI card
3-Com Gig card.
>From my googling it looks like the size limits on both
ext2 and ext3 are about 4 TeraBytes.
I am trying to set up an ext3 file system on a Raid 5 with 13 250GB
drives.
My question..
I set up a Raid 5 with 13 drives and 1 hot spare.
per the CLU (Promises serial command line utility)
the logical drive is about 3 terabytes (2975GB)
Doing an fdisk I only end up with about 789GB ..
I have tried several different block sizes 8 and 64 but no difference,
the file system is still less than a Terabyte..
The tech support folks at Promise seem to be only Windows literate..
The don't seem to know much about Linux.. or maybe I need to get the
next level of support..??
any suggestions welcome..
thx
