Hi all,
I have just put together some parts to make a "computer"
and I use the quotes since all the parts are connected and
laying in a table, no case. Anyway here is the list:
Turbolink pwer supply CWT-420ATX-12V/420W max
ECS L7VMM3 motherboard XP2200 version
VDATA 256M MDGVD4F4G2830B1C0H ram
DDR-333(2.5) 256M*4
hard drive Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 80G ATA133
cdrom Toshiba SD-M1612 Ver 000 Rom ver 1004
DVD player
cdrom P-BOMJC P.MJ Model 2410A-051
24X cd burner
cdrom LG Model CRD-8322B Rom ver 1.03CD
mouse Mitsumi ECM-S3902 std PS-2 2-button
keyboard IBM Model M
monitor IBM P200
I just downloaded, burned and tested a 4 cd set of
Fedora Core 2. I actually intstalled it on another computer
just to make sure it would work.
My problem(s) is/are when I try to install it on the above
hardware:
Disk 1 will not boot to the DVD player so I boot with the LG
I get all the way to the point where it says "an error occured
transfering the install image to your hard drive. You are
probably out of disk space."
I have run hd diags and ram diags and they both check out
fine. I have tried choosing both everything and minimum and
it happens no matter what I choose with regard to packages
to install. I have even gotten an error message that says
something to the effect that this Linux was not designed for
this system and will not be installed much earlier in the install
sequence. All the hardware parts are known good.
Does anyone know of the tricks to getting FC2 installed on
this motherboard?
It installs and runs W98SE just great.
thanks,
charles.....
