Precompiled Livna modules faster dan nVidia self compile?

Hello there,
when I was still enjoying a nice and stable and fully working Fedora Core
1 installation I could use the precompiled nVidia modules from Livna and
they worked just great.
With the new kernel in FC2 it was time to compile stuff myself. That went
smoothly though but I get disappointing 3D results. For example: I used to
have well over 100 fps using GLMatrix to test 3D acceleration. Now itīs
below 60 fps. Chromium used to run much smoother than is the case right
now ... Why is this?
