FC3 (after an install):
Whenever I log (with KDE), I get the following error msg:
"
Error - KsCD
CD-ROM read or access error (or no audio disc in drive).
Please make sure you have access permissions to:
/dev/cdrom
"
The device /dev/cdrom does not (seem to) exist in FC3.
It appears to be /dev/hdb
A change along this line in .kde/share/config/kscdrc does not fix the
problem.
It any one understand the problem or is aware of some valid information
about this, a bit of help may be nice.
Note that I had the problem in a prevous install, and creating another user
would allow access. Does work anymore.
It would be nice to know WHERE does KSCD take its configuration, and device
access information...
----
Red-Hat and then Fedora have never been KDE so user friendly, and this is a
pity. For example, trying to have KDE as the default window manager require
some "console mode" setting ("switchdesk kde"). Hopefully one day Fedora
become more KDE usable.
