OK, I got it:
--- 1) in KSCD click on Extras->Config, and then use /dev/hdb (or your CDROM device). 2) as root: (set proper permissions) chmod 777 /dev/hdb That'a all. ------------------------------------------------------- Comment: ------- This cannot really be called a bug, however it would be nice, like in previous versions to have this properly setup by the Fedora installer. (Anaconda). I cannot help hoping that one day, someone will port the Suse Yast system setup tools to Fedora: it is now open source (but not fully GPL?). It would be just fair for Suse/Novell to make Yast fully available under the GPL, after all SuSE have greatly benefited from the RPM work of Red-Hat ! ---- AnonymousFC3 wrote: > FC3 (after an install): > > Whenever I log (with KDE), I get the following error msg: > " > Error - KsCD > CD-ROM read or access error (or no audio disc in drive). > Please make sure you have access permissions to: > /dev/cdrom > " > > The device /dev/cdrom does not (seem to) exist in FC3. > It appears to be /dev/hdb > A change along this line in .kde/share/config/kscdrc does not fix the > problem. >
