You need to enter the configuration program of your router (often an http
access format, but you haven't said what brand/model of router you have)
and turn on DHCP. This is generally on by default (but you don't have to
turn it off to use a static IP on the PC, just be sure you use a static
address that is not likely to be assigned in duplicate to another machine.
That shouldn't be hard on a small network with a set number of machines.)

In FC3, you can always enter the DNS addresses manually. You get these
numbers from your ISP. Or, frankly, you can use anybody else's DNS
numbers. (The only disadvantage the route/access time to way outside DNS'
is reduced speed of lookup.) The GUI network settings box on FC3 allows
you to enter up to 3 DNS addresses, though you don't have to enter all 3.
