No shutdown but reboot...

    Hello, first of all, excuse my english, i'm a french student...

    I've got a question about my RH9 : my computer has got a multiboot Windows
    XP / RH9
    When i shutdown the computer with XP, no problem; When i try shutting it
    down with RH9, it unloads all modules, and finally writes to me "Power Down"
    and stands by, without shutting anything physically down. But, now, when i
    ask the system to reboot, it does without problem, whether it's XP or RH9.

    -> why ?
    -> How could i resolve the problem ?

    I presize i'm on a Compaq Presario Laptop, model 17xl1700
