Well - I found the Network Control panel, and dialup worked straight off
under Gnome. So that's great.
The Kppp dialer seems still a little problematic - and less intuitive than
the Gnome Internet Connection Wizard.

So the same Network Connection can be used under either Gnome or KDE, so
that's great.
