After a long struggle, I finally got the 64 bit Fedora 4 installed (I
had to work around a but with GRUB and manually set the monitor
Horizontal/Vertical frequency for X to display). Now comes an even
bigger problem. After I use the X window for a few minutes (doesn't
seem to matter what I do), the entire machine hangs. The display is
there. Mouse moves. But it does not respond to either keyboard or mouse
click. The only thing that I can do is to power the machine down by
press the power button for a few seconds. This happens consistently. A
few things about the set up:

Downloaded and burned 5 CD from redhat.com for the 64 bit Fedora 4.
The machine is 64 bit AMD athlon with 768 MB RAM. The video card is
    "SiS 760".
I have Windows XP and Fedora 4 dural booted through GRUB.

I tried a "yum update" two days ago and noticed the machine hanging
problem. I though it was caused by a glich during the update (The
update hung and machine was rebooted. Resuming update reported some
file inconsistency. I had to remove the faulty package to complete the
update). So today I reinstalled Fedora 4 from scrach. Still the same
hanging problem. I doubt an update would solve this problem. I'll give
it a try anyway tomorrow. Besides updating, what else that I can do.
What are the steps to take to trouble shoot this kind of problem?

    Thanks,

    ----Ryan
