Unknown monitor on HP notebook

I loaded Fedora 4 on my HP pavilion zx5280 which is a WXGA 1280 x 800
display notebook with a ATI Radeon Mobility M10 128 meg AGP card.

The install recoginzes the graphics card so I assume it loaded the
driver but points out the monitor is unknown.

The result is resolution of 800 x 600 at 60hz and if I try to change it
to 1280 x 800 I get several sets of icons -- multiple desktops if you
will.

What am I fighting here? The graphics card? The monitor? Both?

Any help is greatly appreciated.
