OK good!!!, then use the built for FC4 by you version of partimage.

Do you have the latest e2fsprogs rpm for FC4 installed??
e2fsprogs-1.38-0.FC4.1.i386.rpm
e2fsprogs-devel-1.38-0.FC4.1.i386.rpm
