Check the manual for the 19 inch display or use google to find the specs.
I have made the chnages you suggested but nothing seems to change.
All I did was:
- Modified /etc/X11/xorg.conf
- as root an setup --> went to X configuration and it poped up the
display settings screen.
Do you mean system-config-display ran???
But in this the mode does'nt seem to pick the new resolution. and I end
up with the same resolution.. :(
Of course, turn off the laptop LCD screen and restart X, most laptops have a
keystroke combo (Fn+F6 on mine) which can set/switch which display or if
both are active. The default is only the laptop LCD screen is active then
each time I press the keystroke combo what happens is;
First time is both the laptop LCD screen is active and the external monitor
Second time only the external monitor is active
Third time back to the laptop LCD screen as active
