hi
i tried to boot into runlevel 3 as well.
HOW???
but i still get errors. i agree that the x config is wrong. but i can
not even log in to reset it.
can u give me any pointers?
OK one last time..........
When the grub splash screen is displayed hit any key.
Select your Linux (Fedora) boot choice and press the 'e' key.
Select the line that starts with something like 'kernel /vmlinuz' and press
the 'e' key again.
At the end of the line add a space followed by the number three (3).
When done press the 'Enter' key followed by the 'b' key
Log on as root and supply the password when asked, then try;
yum update kernel
yum update
This should if yum is installed and you have a working Internet connection
update a number of files, some are related to the problem (x-server and
such). Reboot normally when done.
If you do not have a working Internet connection then try as root;
system-config-display --reconfigure --set resolution 800x600 --set depth 16
This should give you (hopefully) a fairly generic X configuration, if not
then try the command above this time add the switch; --set driver vesa
You can test by typing the command (press the 'Enter' key afterwards);
startx
