Re: FC5 will not start network card

I had the same problem with FC5. I have 3Com network card, and sometimes it doesn't work. After some experiments I've concluded, that Fedora does strange things when you have "old beaten" network card - when error occures, Fedora does nothing to correct it. But Windows does very many attemts to do what he want, so he does it.

I just installed FC5 on disk 1 of a machine that has Windows
2000 on disk 0. I used to have Red hat 9 on this machine
and the same network card worked just fine. FC5 seems to be
working except that the network card does not start up. It
fails when trying to get an IP address from my router. The
same card works fine with the same router under Windows
2000. What other services might I need that was not
installed by default?
