Hi all.
I need to setup my linux box as Wins client only to identify some
notebook that sometimes are conencted to network.
I've installed samba --> OK
Modified smb.conf as :
wins support = no
wins server = 10.248.158.2
dns proxy = no
start smb -> ok
[root@webdru2ux samba]# ps -ef | grep mbd
root 18512 1 0 Nov02 ? 00:00:00 smbd -D
root 18513 18512 0 Nov02 ? 00:00:00 smbd -D
root 18517 1 0 Nov02 ? 00:00:06 nmbd -D
but if i try to ping or traceroute a notebook i got:
[root@webdru2ux samba]# ping nb-brugo
ping: unknown host nb-brugo
[root@webdru2ux samba]# traceroute nb-brugo
traceroute: unknown host nb-brugo
I think that i miss some steps.
Any ideas ? what's wrong ?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks
Mike
