Video Problems Compaq Presario 900Z

Hey guys,
I have a problem and was wondering if someone can help me out here.
I have a Compaq presario 900z and it has an ATI card. I downloaded Red
Hat Linux CD and tried to install it but after sometime, the screen
display gets all distorted to the point that you cannot see anything. I
was wondering if someone has a solution to this problem.
