Hello all,
I really don't wish to get on your collective nerves, but I have this
small problem that was discussed here not too long ago (29.10).
I watched the thread with interest because it discussed a topic with
which I was occupied.
I have installed J2SDK1.4.2 and then dutifully created a link in
/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins
with:
ln -s /usr/java/j2sdk1.4.2_01/jre/plugin/_ ('_' suggests cont.)
i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so
I restarted Mozilla (1.2.1) and with <about:plugins> cheerfully awaiting
the presnce of my *new* java plug-in :( :@
OK! I said, we'll do that again but this time in the *other* mozilla
plugin dir:
*/usr/lib/mozilla1.2.1/plugins*
don't ask me why there are two, perhaps you can tell *me*, anyway after
creating the second link to the java plug-in I did the <about:plugins>
thing again - ditto ..... NIX! :'( ......
I saw / see in both cases : Plugger 5.0 (in .../mozilla/plugins),
Shockwave Flash and Default Plugin (in .../mozilla1.2.1/plugins), but
*no* libjavaplugin_oji.so (link) which exist now in both directories.
Why is the plug-in not available to Mozilla??
If somebody can help then please do - I cannot see what I've missed, but
obviously I *have*.
Thanx muchly,
Dave D.
