I know what he's seeing. So what? It's just the standard X server.

Yes, I tell him to type stuff. What's his problem? Can't he type? He
can type perfectly well! Oh .. you are trying to draw my attention to
the fact that typing at a X server does no good? I know that! Tell HIM
that!

See above.

Then try harder, this time engaging your brain first. You'll have to
connect your keyboard to something that takes keyed input, you know!
A shell springs to mind as a good start!

Where have I told you to type at an X server? I have never done such a
thing. I entirely disavow your claim. I have never ever done any such
thing.

Well don't sit there staring at an X server screen. What's the point in
that? You can only type at a prompt or in an editor for a script. Are
you idiots? If somebody asks you to write a note do you say "I'm
moving my fingers but nothing is happening"? No - you get a pen and
paper.

> you say to just start typing, and now you say NOT to type at an X server

No, I have NEVER told you to type an an X server screen. That is your
own fantastic invention, or should I say, incredible stupidity. Where
do you get such a non-idea from?

You type wherever you like whenever you like however you like.

I'm listening alright. Recall that I understand perfectly.

I've just told you how for the umpteenth time. You type "xterm".

> - that's EXACTLY what we're trying to tell you and ask for help on.

No, you know perfectly well how to start an xterm. Don't lie. Even if
you were so fantastically stupid as to not know how, I told you. You
type "xterm".

Indeed! I knew you knew! Are you trying to play stupid buggers?

What's to figure out? You know all there is to know. Now just quit
being stupid and playing dumb.
