Redhat 9 USB doesn't work

Hi All,
I upgraded from RH 7.2 to RH9 and gphoto2, which used to work before
with my USB digital camera, finds error "cannot find attached camera".
At startup I see messages saying insmod failed on trying to load some
USB modules, and usb-uhci is not loaded at startup. I insmod usb-uhci
manually, but gphoto2 fails to find the device.
Can anyone help?
