Hey friends,
I have a RH6.2 (Dell Poweredge 1300) box that has been running the
same old apps for a few years now. All of a sudden I am getting:
Process <pick a running daemon ie. java, or sendmail..etc>
"Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address
00000010"
After I get this I can no longer log into the machine, the daemons die
over the course of an hour, and I'm forced to restart. After restart
it will run for about 8 hours, then do it again.
I searched the archives and see that 9 times out of 10 this is
suggesting a memory problem. I replaced all the RAM this morning, and
still I am getting the error.
I realize I need to upgrade from 6.2, and planned to in January. I
just need this baby to run about 4 more weeks using its current
config. Any thoughts on what else I could check? I'm at a loss.
Rob
p.s. I don't think it matters as the process named during the error
varies, but the box is running apache, tomcat, sendmail, ssh.
