In gnome, go to:
RedHat Menu -> System Settings -> Network
On the 'Devices' tab, select the interface connected to your cable modem
(probably eth0) then click 'Edit' in the toolbar.
Put a tick in 'Activate device when computer starts' and select
'Automatically obtain IP address settings with' and choose 'dhcp' from the
drop down menu. Click 'OK'.
Back where the 'Devices' tab lives, click 'Deactivate' then click
'Activate'.
You can if you wish specify the nameservers on the 'DNS' tab, but dhcp
should take care of this automagically.
Save your new configuration and you should now be online. You sholdn't
need to reboot if everything is OK.
One thing: you will need to allow ports 67 and 68 through your
firewall/router for dhcp to work.
Regards,
Dave
