Partition

Hello, wonder if anyone can help. I'm fairly new to Linux, have
downloaded and intalled version 9. I also run win XP from the same hard
drive. I would like to free soem of the space occupied by my main linux
  partition in order to leave space for a dos partition, which will be
used to share files. Most of the places I've looked seem to concentrate
on installation.
