I've got "gaim" instant messenger 0.74.
Every now and then, the sound on my computer goes mute from all
applications.
In order to revive the sound, I've got to exit from gaim (which
usually gets stuck so I just kill it) and this fixes the problem.

Another problem I have is that gaim no longer exists as an icon tray.
It used to but not anymore. Playing with that option doesn't do any
good.

Any solutions would be most welcome.
