My objective is to set up a simple ftp server on my RH9 machine so
that my daughter can log in to it using a browser and upload lots of
    pictures of the grandchildren.

I'm struggling with setting up vsftpd!

I think that a simple account with a password is sufficient for my
purposes and considering that the files to be uploaded are not
sensitive. I don't think I need anonymous login capability.

My linux skills are limited. I need to know exactly what files are to
be configured and exactly what must be in them for this to work. I
have vsftpd running, so my issue is configuration.

Assume that I will have one ftp user with a login name and password
and that that user will have access to only one directory with
read/write privilege. The user does not need to have an account on
    the local machine.

I've googled until I'm goggle eyed. There are just so many choices
and most how-to's assume too much for me.

Some actual working configuration files would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Hudson
