Redhat 9.0 i18n and french language (with accents)

here is my configuration in a upgraded rh (rh7.3->rh9.0)
more /etc/sysconfig/i18n
LANG="fr_FR@euro"
SUPPORTED="fr_FR@euro:fr_FR:fr"
SYSFONT="lat0-sun16"
SYSFONTACM="iso15"

here is my configuration in a new install (rh7.3->rh9.0) (i have modified
UTF8 manually)
 more /etc/sysconfig/i18n
LANG="fr_FR@euro"
#LANG="fr_FR.UTF-8"
#SUPPORTED="fr_FR.UTF-8:fr_FR:fr"
SUPPORTED="fr_FR.iso885915@euro:fr_FR:fr"
SYSFONT="latarcyrheb-sun16"

here is the list of my locale
locale -a |grep fr_FR
fr_FR
fr_FR@euro
fr_FR.iso88591
fr_FR.iso885915@euro
fr_FR.utf8
fr_FR.utf8@euro

i try all of this type but in gnome apps accents doesnt seems to be working
properly not when i write text but when i read (manual, old applications,
gnome2 apps ... like in yelp).

Is there a solution for this i find nothing THAT WORKS on redhat site.
