Setting up secure http file transfer

I want to use ssl to encrypt http file transfer. However, I am not
very experienced with apache on linux. I have configured ssl on my rh
7.3 box but do not know how to publish a folders content. Is there a
way to automatically publish a folders content?

Any doc links or advice would be greatly appreciated.
