Boot stalls for about 1 min twice

This is my first time so bear with me. I like linux a lot so far.
Here is what I see at start up. when it stalls, not stop takes a full
minute then continues. but it is annoying to wait for.

Then it goes through the rest of the boot just fine.
Is there some way to take out hde: wait and hdg:?
And what is it?
