You can try a network install if you have a fast connection or or willing
to wait. I do that all the time, especially when having cd issues. get the
bootnet.img for the images directory on your cd and put it on a floppy
(you can use rawrite for this). boot the floppy, select ftp or http
install and select you favorite mirror. answer the questions and wait a
long time.
if rehdat 8 installs ok, you can prabably just fix the X configurations.
If you want 9, try the network install.
