Having just got my new Dell Precision 360 workstation with RH9 on it,
everyhing seems to be running very nicely. However, there are two
packages that I'd like to upgrade if possible, but am having problems.
1. Mozilla - the RH9 install came with v1.2.1 and I'd like to uprade to
v1.5 with the pop-up blocking, etc etc. However, I downloaded the
tar.gz file for Linux, unpacked it, then went to install it. It told me
it couldn't upgrade because of some dependency problems requiring the
original 1.2.1 etc etc. If I UNinstall the v1.2.1 that came with the
RH9, where and how do I then install v1.5 as a fresh install, if indeed
it will do that?
2. OpenOffice - the version with the RH9 install is v1.02, and I'd like
to upgrade to the new v1.1
However, I've downloaded the tar.gz from the Australia mirror site,
unpacked it, changed to the directory with the SETUP script etc, and run
./setup -net as instructed. But it then tells me that the language is
different from the one in my OpenOfice profiles folder or some such and
won't upgrade. It offers to do a fresh install in a new directory, but
that's not what I want to do - I want to upgrade my 1.02 to 1.1
What's going on, and why should these things be so difficult to do?
Hellppppppp please.....
