dumb newbie question

Ok sorry about the dumb newbie question,but...
I am running RH9 and somehow I made my desktop larger than what I can see on
the monitor. So now everytime I move the mouse to the sides, the whole
screen scrolls. This is becoming very anoying. I am running gnome desktop.
Where are these settings located?
