Just fyi you can find ready wxWinows rpms at
www.fedora.us , more specifically wxGTK at
http://download.fedora.us/fedora/redhat/9/i386/RPMS.stable/
If you download and install apt from there, you can
run apt-get update ; apt-get install wxGTK.
(there is also wxGTK2 which is wxWindows using GTK2 instead
of GTK1)
