Allan
That was quite a treat Tuesday. I had expected you to trot
out one or two of MT's homilies. I particularly like the
one about the improvement of his father's knowledge of the
world during the time he (MT) aged from 18 to 19. At least
that's the way I remember it.
The second one, perhaps even less appropriate was that 'jews
can often be found dancing on the gravestones of their
oppressors'. Again only from memory.
You spoke for 45 minutes. Despite the temperature and
atmosphere of the temple, I was awake throughout and absorbed
by every detail. This is a compliment in itself. When our
rabbi opens his mouth to deliver a sermon, (invariably only
20 minutes but it seems like an hour), heads nod forward as
if responding to a pre hypnotic command, only to awake as he
ceases, turn to their neighbours and ask 'what did he say?'.
Thank you for a really enjoyable evening. I hope to invite
you to Friars but I want to wait for one of the meetings in
2004.
All the best
Alan
