I'm a new Pan convert myself. I finally came back from the dark side
(WinXP), before that I had always used tin -r under Linux. I have to
admit Pan has some odd usability issues (some filters are buttons some are
under the filter menu, none are in both places). But once you get around
the quirks Pan is pretty good. Learning the shortcuts keys helps he're
are some I can't do without (I'm big on being able to do things without a
mouse)

1 - Groups tab
2 - Headers tab
3 - Body tab
n - Next unread message
g - Next group with unread messages
Ctrl+Shift+m - Mark group read
Shift+s - Save attachments
