I had the same problem and i fix it, it has worked with a promise
fasttrack 376 controller. So you need to find the driver for your
controller. Then you have 2 solutions, or you want to install your redhat
on this serial ata drive, in this case you have to uncompress the driver
you got on a floppy then during the install you choose expert mode and
then when prompt, just say you have additional drivers and put your
floppy and install drivers. After, when you'll arrive to the
partitionning screen, you should see the disk.

If you have already installed linux, just install the drivers, restart,
and mount your hdd. it will be sda or sdb etc.. not hda.
