I am having a problem after installing Fedora Core 1.
My Windows machines can see my Linux box fine along with Linux shares and
files.
My Linux box can see all my shares on my Windows machines, but cannot see
any files inside of the shares. This is true on both FAT32 and NTFS shares.
I have gone through my samba config file with a fine tooth comb and cannot
see anything wrong. I have also gone through the permissions on the Windows
boxes, and the windows files have full permissions (read/write/execute)
My PDC is a Windows 2003 enterprise server. All worked well with RH9 (but
Fedora has "upgraded" to Samba 3.0.0?).
The only clue I have is that out of desperation I downloaded
LinNeighborhood, and when I try to connect to any (FAT32 or NTFS) share
using this program I get an error "can't resolve name".
But the DNS servers are fine and I can connect to the internet with both the
Linux box and the Windows machines on the network.
Help please! This is driving me crazy. I did many googles, found several
users with similar problems, but with no solutions.
TIA
